The good folks at RuiDeng sent me their latest UPM for a video. It's a follow-up to their TC64
(on which I also did a video/blogpost). This RuiDeng TC66C USB Type-C Power Monitor addresses the issues many of us had with the TC64; it adds bidirectional measuring capability as well as PD and other protocol triggering functions and output protocol analysis along with PC connectivity as standard (TC66) and optional Bluetooth connectivity (TC66C) for use with iOS/Android devices and an app.
All of that while remaining affordably priced imho. Perfect for those of us who have ditched USB-A and micro-usb entirely and want to measure the power usage or capacity of their Type-C devices...

BangGood sent me another UPM to take a look at.
This time they sent me a 100MHZ UT50N Dual Channel UPM.
It sports a 320 by 240 pixel colour TFT screen, knocking the UPM from the previous post for biggest display in my collection. It features dual micro-usb and Type-C inputs, and dual USB-A and Type-C outputs, hence the dual channel name.
It has a very nice graphing function that really takes advantage of the large screen as its party-piece.
Check out the video below if you'd like to know a little more about this UT50N Dual Channel UPM.

The good folks over at BangGood sent another UPM my way for a video; a WITRN-X-MFi USB Power Monitor. With a 128*160 pixel full colour screen this is the 'biggest-screened' UPM I have in the arsenal at the moment. Ideal for my kind of videos. Special feature on this UPM is the ability to check MFi-certification for things with Lightning connectors. Another very useful feature for my videos...
Combine that with the most complete protocol analysys I have seen until now, and this might well be the most complete UPM in my collection. Check out the video below if you want to learn more about this WITRN-X-MFi.

USB Type-C Power Monitor : Chargerlab Power-Z KM001C

In today's video we'll be taking a look at a Chargerlab Power-Z KM001C USB Type-C Power Monitor I got sent by the manufacturer for this video.

I made a video on the predecessor of this UPM, the KM001, in which I bitched and moaned about the lack of a decent manual. That was back in April and I had tried to contact the manufacturer for some help with this several times with no reply from them, starting at the beginning of March.

In December the manufacturer had hired someone to take care of all overseas affairs and I was contacted with an apology and an offer to test this new KM001C, which I gladly accepted.
There's still no decent manual however, and my contact over there has already left the company, so this video will serve as kind of a makeshift manual for the time being.

➤ Haven't found any links that sell the UPM for a decent price, so you'll have to do some sleuthing for a good priced unit.

I bought a RuiDeng TC64 USB Type-C Power Monitor for myself, out of curiosity.
I wasn't quite sure if it would be good for the things I do, it not being able to trigger any protocols or PD stuff itself, but it has proven its worth to me over the past few days when working on new videos.
Let's take a look at it in this video.
This Rui Deng TC64 is a welcome addition to the UPM arsenal, this being my first full Type-C UPM.
I like it a lot, even if it's not that extensive in function. It'll still come in very handy for the stuff I do in my videos. It's a basic but nice UPM, with an equally nice price so you don't have to break the bank if you want to do some basic Type-C power testing.
